Un on the Tree
Leopard mother and son

Leopards are shy cats, normally either hiding in the bushes or lying on the branches, they are relatively difficult to find.

Climbing up the tree.

The nearly vertical tree is just a playground for the leopard. They are muscular and can drag the prey twice their weight on to a tree. So trees become their natural refrigerators.

Playing on the tree.

Preparing to jump.

Jumping to the other branch.

The clumsy leopard cub accidentally got rid of their prey stored on the tree and hurriedly turned back to get it.

Run to the ground.

The prey had been dried up for a few days, it was not very fresh. However, the leopard likes to eat semi-rotted food bucause it is easier to tear off.

Watching around with vigilance, it was more dangerous on the ground than the tree. Food could be lost if there was a passing lion or hyena.

After dinner, the cub go back on to the tree, and his mum came back also. Looks like they would stay over night on this tree.
